Cheese. Keju. What is the deal with Malaysians and cheese? As if they just discover a pot of caviar, smothering it with almost anything. Although we are avid cheese eaters ourselves but there are limits that you should never cross.

Pisang goreng cheese
Pisang goreng or people inversely goreng pisang is a Malaysian favourite tea snack. Those lovely sweet and firm bananas, dipped in batter and is cooked in hot oil. It forms the loveliest crispy outer layer coating and soft gooey inside, perfect to be eaten as it is. But nooo, you had to add cheese, and on top of that, condensed milk!
How sinful!
Murtabak Cheese
Murtabak is like roti canai or roti paratha, only, it is filled with a juicy mixture of eggs and miced beef or chicken. The savouriness and spicyness goes really well with the crunchy skin giving it layers of impeccable texture. Perhaps adding cheese is not so bad after all, if you consider it like a burger. It adds richness on top of richness!
Apam Balik Cheese
Apam balik is traditionally supposed to be sweet with sprinkles of sugar and crunchy peanuts and topped off with pockets of sweet corn. It comes in two different sizes either small and cruchy or big and filling. We Malaysians, are sooo imaginative. We experiment with everything. Including adding cheese into an apam balik!
